OUR NEW K-12 STUDENTS!!!

Nowadays, students aren't learning in the same way as they used to years ago. Our "new students" live in a totally different world, with different inputs they receive from their environment, especially techonological inputs. That's the reason why, our ways of teaching have to change and we, teachers, have to adapt our classes to our new students' necessities. With all the technology we have everywhere, it's almost impossible not to include them in our classes. And this technology has changed our students into K12 students.
Maybe this term "K12 students" make you feel a bit scared, but this is something real, something we have to face in every class. Watch this video...

The first time I watched this video, I was kind of shocked because I wasn't so aware of this new kind of students, and this made me realized that I have to improve my classes. That's when I decided to include some of this new technology in my classes. Using emails, going to the English lab and surfing in special web sites where they can practise what they are learning in a funny way, watching videos or listening to audios imported from the net, etc. create a nice atmosphere and make my students be exposed to different activities and improve their learning.
